Ashikiyoko's previous layouts. The good, bad, and the ugly

Version 14

(Preview Upcoming). My best layout yet. I love this layout. After reading through a lot of blogs about the web design community and inspiration (this article) I grew very discouraged about the previous version 14, so I re-did it into something more of my personal style. It took me a while to think of a color scheme that catches the eye immediately, and I pulled it off nicely if I do say so myself. I spiced up this layout with a lot of textures, it makes it stand out from just regular CSS colors. I also super selective colorized the anime image, I think it gives this layout the feeling it needs. The notebook effect looks makes it stand out even more huh? Tyler from Anxiety taught me how to do it through e-mail and Harper from Anxiety is my new source of inspiration. 'Cause I was suffering with designers block. That's about it, I'm sure this layout will be up for a long time.

Version 13

View. Wooooow. I totally LOVE this layout. It took me two days to put together, and I'm happy with the result. It was kept up from July 16th to August 20th. This version features Goto Maki from the Japanese band Morning Masume. The image was found on Photobucket.com with the search Morning Musume. I looked all around the WORLD for the image, it's wonderful ne'? The colors reflect my summer: fun, refreshing, and colorful. I wanted to get away from making anime based layouts all of the time, so this is something new.

Version 12

View. After version 11, I stopped naming my layouts. This version features a character from the anime Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle. It's very simplistic and compatible, and it looks professional. It was inspired by Nuwen, a very skilled Wordpress template designer. Not much to say really, but I loved it.

Version 11 - Nana

View. Version 11 was kept up for a few days, it was put up on July first. This layout really didn't stick in my head, and I got easily bored with it. It was compatible with all browsers and resolutions, which was a good thing. I tore it down on and put version 12 up on the 4th of July 2007. After version 11 I stopped naming my layouts.

Version 10 - Fresh Fruit

Fresh fruit was a very small layout. It was very colorful though, and it was easy on the eyes. But...it was kept up for a few days until I got tired of it.

Version 9 - Ice Cream

This was a nice professional looking layout. It was blue and pink, a good choice of colors. It featured Sakura from Card Captor Sakura. It was inspired by my affiliate Scrapboxed. It was up for about a week.

Version 8 - Eternal

Eternal was complete failure. It was up for only 3 days. I knew I could've done better. The content was organized, but the layout was all off balanced. It was a blend of purple, red, blue, and pink, and that's the only part that was a success.

Version 7 - Summer Sunset

I totally L-O-V-E-D this layout! It was up for a month and a few days. It was a mixture of pink and gray. I really can't describe how much I loved the layout. This layout was just...awesome.

Version 6 - Marshimaro

View. This version featured a character from the anime Ichigo Marshimaro which means Strawberry Marshmellow in japanese. This was one of my longest lasting layouts, it was up for a whole month! It was one of my favorites.

Version 5 - Efflorescence

View. This layout was up during the spring time after version 4. It featured a character from Kaleido Star. Yet another lovely mixture of purple, white, and pink. It was really spacey though. I realized that some people on the net have lower screen resolutions than my 1024x768 screen. Ah the dreaded 800x600 screen resolution, I despise it. Knowing that some browsers had to scroll left and right to see the whole layout because of their 800x600 screen resolution, I took down the layout.

Version 4 - Violet Spring

View. This layout was up during the spring time. It was a mixture of purples and pinks. It was very...empty. It was only up for a few days after I started hating it.

Version 3

View. Wow. I LOVED this layout. It was blue, my favorite color. It featured a character from Disgaea. It took up the whole 1024x768 screen. I had no idea that people with 800x600 screen resolutions had to scroll left and right to see the layout. Oh well, it was awesome nonetheless. It was kept up for almost a month.

Version 2

View. Yet another spacey layout that took up the whole 1024x768 screen. It featured fan-art this time. I copied the almost the same navigation style from a layout I saw a while back. Inspiration isn't the same as copying people, and version 14 shows that. This was kept up for about 3 weeks. Not much to say really, but it was a lovely layout.

Version 1

View. Wow, I can't believe we're down to when Ashikiyoko first started!!! Here's version 1. It featured a character from Moetan. It was easy on the eyes and it had a techno feeling to it. The main body was inspired by a layout I saw a long time ago, I have bad memory. You guessed it. It took up the whole 1024x768 screen AGAIN. But hey, I liked it and everyone who visited liked it, so I was cool with that layout. Now do me a favor and get a 1024x768 screen resolution or higher if you don't have one already.
